Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Ella Hunt, Chris Brain with Lockeland Strings

Union Chapel, N1 2UN , [Venue Details]

Artistic transformation is often associated with a blast of fanfare – the dramatic unveiling of a new look, or lofty announcement of the revelation that prompted such a change.

Friday,
5 Dec 2025
Doors open @7.00pm

In the case of Benjamin Francis Leftwich, reinvention transpires with significantly more subtlety on his latest album, Some Things Break.

“It feels like a new voice, in a way." the York-born artist says. "I guess a more human and perhaps a more surrendered voice. Learning to hold on to certain things and let go of others with as much grace as possible…I feel like I’m hiding less on this record. Ultimately i think it’s a record about a kind of slow acceptance that some things break and for me - sometimes that’s necessary for healing”

Devon born Ella Hunt is multi hyphenate singer, songwriter and actress known for her roles in Dickinson and Saturday Night. She recently released her singles ‘Mother’s Chair’ and ‘Subway Trash’, marking the beginning of a new era for Hunt, produced by Jimmy Hogarth (Anhoni And The Johnson’s, The 1975).

Yorkshire’s Chris Brain has carved his place firmly into the contemporary folk scene following his highly-regarded first two albums, Bound to Rise (2022) and Steady Away (2023).
